2024 Ford F-150
The 2024 Ford F-150 isn't your average successor, and that's because it's one of the largest changes to the world-renowned pickup trucks in recent memory that wasn't accompanied by a generational shift. This leaves the 2024 F-150 in an excellent position, with many other manufacturers taking note of Ford's other efforts, most noticeable with the inclusion of a far larger infotainment center with an immense amount of versatility.
The 2024 F-150 starts at an MSRP of $36,570 for the XL base trim.[a] Although this marks a price hike over the preceding model, it's anything but unexpected given the massive changes to the F-150's presentation and underpinnings: more power, better tech, etc. Everyone's favorite trims are here for the 2024 F-150: the XL, XLT, LARIAT, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor all return. However, there are two new additions to the trim lineup: the STX and Raptor R - the former being priced directly above the XL, while the latter is the priciest available F-150, but not without reason.
Performance
As with any new Ford truck that enters the marketplace, it comes with an array of engine options that will appeal to any type of driver. Whether you're tackling tough challenges on the job site or need the added strength for a DIY project at home, the 2024 Ford F-150 has you covered with an extensive lineup of engines to give you just the right amount of power you need to take on the day.
The 2024 F-150 Engine Lineup
While the 2024 model says goodbye to the 3.3L V6 base engine, you are still left with a broad range of options, beginning with the returning turbocharged 2.7L V6 that offers up to 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. If you need more from your engine, you can always opt for the 5.0L V8 that produces an impressive 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Moving up the lineup, we have the 3.5L V6, maintaining the previous 400 hp but jumping up to a whopping 510 lb-ft of torque.
Other Engine Options And Towing/payload Capacities
But it doesn't end there: those craving more horsepower will love the High-Output version of the 3.5L V6, which will provide 450 hp and the 510 lb-ft of torque shared with its turbocharged counterpart. From here, we take a huge leap when it comes to power, with the 5.2L High-Output Supercharged V8 giving you a monstrous 700 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, we have a hybrid 3.5L V6 engine that generates 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. When properly equipped, you can expect to tow an estimated 13,500 lbs of cargo and carry a best-in-class payload of 3,315 lbs.
Exterior
The 2024 Ford F-150 is as capable on the outside as it is on the inside. And, if your 2024 F-150 is either the Raptor or Tremor, the exterior can offer even more versatility. These off-roading capable F-150 models have features like specialized suspensions, Dual Live Valve shocks, skid plates, front tow hooks, front and rear locking differentials, and the Raptor even has 34-inch All-Terrain tires. The front can also be attached with a winch, making steep climbing a breeze when you need to pull your truck up an incline - the winch you can attach to the front of the 2024 F-150 sports a 12,000 lb capacity.
A Versatile Truck Bed
No matter what size your 2024 F-150's truck bed is, it's still one of Ford's more sophisticated beds thanks to extra features that expand its uses beyond laying cargo down for transport. For example, many truck owners prefer to utilize their trucks for tailgating whenever attending a concert or professional sporting event, and it's their truck bed that holds the cooler, perhaps a grill, lawn chairs, etc. The F-150's truck beds are more than lengthy enough for such activities, but a feature that's bound to help drivers, from hobbyists to enthusiasts and professionals, is the Pro Power Onboard generator.
Pro Power Onboard Generator
Every 2024 F-150 has a Pro Power Onboard generator, with the base model sporting a 2.0kW generator. While not ideal for a more intricate work site, the power from this generator is more than enough for hobbyists. With powertrains that sport the PowerBoost technology - like the F-150 hybrid, for example - the power throughput of the truck's bed is increased to 2.4 kW, which is ideal for worksites and enthusiasts. For an unmatched upgrade that's unmistakably more versatile, you can get the 7.2kW power bed. Every 2024 F-150 bed also comes with a dedicated storage box located behind a small door on the side of the bed's wall.
Available Bed Sizes
You can choose from three different bed sizes when buying the truck. There's a 5'5" bed, a 6'5" bed, and an 8' bed. Beginning with the longest of the three, the 8'-long bed has 77.4 cu.ft. of space, followed by the 6'5" bed with 62.3 cu.ft. of space. That's the largest drop-off in cargo space you'll see, as the 5'5"-long bed and its 52.8 cu.ft. of space is almost a 10 cu.ft. difference.
Features
Ford is excited about the features of the 2024 F-150, and you should be, too. Among the latest additions to the 2024 F-150 is Ford BlueCruise, a Head-Up Display, and a 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment center comes standard. The SYNC 4 infotainment center has many advantages, like Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. BlueCruise is Ford's take on assistive driving, which allows you to remove your hands from the steering wheel and take your foot off the gas when traveling on supported highways.
Bluecruise
BlueCruise is one of those game-changing features, and the 2024 model has an updated variant of the technology: BlueCruise 1.2, which adds a handful of new functions. For example, the truck now safely switches lanes without touching the wheel once you switch on your left or right turn signal. There are always new BlueCruise-enabled highways, with roads having already been activated around the United States - including some highways in Hawaii and Alaska - and even some roads in Canada.
Trailering Tech
The F-150 has more tech that alleviates the driver and takes matters into the hands of the truck. For example, the F-150 can steer itself when attempting to reverse the truck with a trailer in tow. All the driver needs to do is press a button and turn a knob, and the wheel will turn without any human interference, along with braking and accelerating. This feature is called Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, but that doesn't mean there are no benefits for drivers who prefer to manually reverse their trailer, as Pro Trailer Backup Assist gives you better visualization when steering your trailer thanks to lines that display on the infotainment center screen, which is also where you'll view the viewpoints from the 360-degree camera.
Pro Access Tailgate
The F-150's truck bed can be accessed in a few ways thanks to the Pro Access Tailgate. This tailgate can be set up in a few ways, ranging from a load stop to an extra step in the back to make stepping onto the bed easier. The truck bed's door swings open, and you can choose how far it opens - you don't need to fully open it every time. You can open the door at the following angles: 37 degrees, 70 degrees, and 100 degrees - the latter of which is the fully open position.
